USB Cable Tester and Diagnostic Tool

Love this little device. real useful for testing cables in the field (av work) and great for getting rid of suspected faulty and charge only cables. build quality could be better usb a 2.0 port and lighting both feel low quality. for such a cheap price this item is must get.

Works pretty good with a variety of cables! you can use a cr2025 or a compatible "button" battery as well if you don't have cr2032. unfortuantely the "vin" isn't a usb jack, but some plastic [+,-] plug, so it's not very useful... :(

It works as it should; I was able to test all the connections with this cable tester except for the lighting connection.

I bought this device (and two other testers), which traveled half the world to reach me, but at the end of this process, the Pocztex courier refused to arrive and deliver the package to the address, instead returning it to the sender (in a phone conversation, the reason given was an incorrect address on the package, making delivery impossible). Fortunately, the purchase was a "Choice" item and Aliexpress acted quickly; I received a refund and bought the testers again, this time from an InPost parcel locker (and now I only order this way). This time the device arrived to me, I assembled it and tested it with my working cables - it's in perfect order and works flawlessly (see photo).

Worked to check a variety of usb cables i had collected over the years. item arrived in good time and was easy to assemble and use.

A very useful device. When i started testing my cables, i was surprised how many of them are only suitable for charging. The tester clearly shows via leds which pins are connected. All pins are labeled on the tester, and there are also exposed test points in case someone wants to probe them with a multimeter.



I recommend the version with the acrylic cover — it makes a pretty nice enclosure

It is necessary to know the pinout of the cables in order to interpret them. Useful for determining whether we can use the cables for different functions.

It works very easily with a battery, you can control many types of USB cables with this, and also the ones you build yourself, which saves you problems and questions;-) LEDs light up well.

Works very well within its capabilities. A suggested enclosure would have been helpful.

I still don't understand why I bought this gadget.

Judging by the light indicators, you can distinguish a data cable from a charging-only cable.

Would have been even better w a simple user guide how the leds should light up for different cables - with simple pictures or similar

I think this thing is great, i like knowing if my cords are any good before i go throwing them away or cutting them up for projects. Cords and chargers are to expensive to throw away without at least testing everything to make sure it’s not just a dirty cord or not getting plugged in correctly. I’m an advocate for folks to have simple tech like this around the house.kinda fun to put together as well

The plate arrived quickly and in perfect condition. It can be powered in two ways, either through an external power supply of up to 12V DC maximum, which can be done using a connector or by soldering the wires onto the board, or, more recommended in my opinion, you can use a common CR2032 button cell battery, which avoids having cables all over the table.

In the photos I have provided, you can see different types of cables: USB-C, USB-A, Lightning, and Thunderbolt 4. In all tests, the LEDs indicate the status of the lines, making it easier to detect problems in the cables.

A very useful tool. It allows you to test many types of usb cables. Good quality. Fast shipping. Everything as described. Shipped without batteries.

Useful device. Without going into details, simply put, the more LEDs light up, the better the cable. If powered by a battery, after measurements it's better to change the switch position to power from the network, this will prevent battery self-discharge.

This device is perfect for weeding out the junk cables and ensuring i have strong data cables that can support fast charging speeds.
